Special Exhibition : The Year of the Rabbit The Folktales of The Rabbit

The year of 2011 marks the year of the rabbit in the Chinese zodiac system. Due to their loveliness, rabbits are the animal beloved by human beings. Also, because they have been an important part of livestock for ages in the history of human beings, people find themselves feel familiar to rabbits. These are the reasons why we have lots of stories about rabbits in our lives.
This special exhibition is about the rabbit stories with three parts. In the first part, the story is about the two aspects of the rabbit, which are, as being an animal and as God of Rabbit, which is one of the characters among the twelve animals in the system of the Chinese zodiac. The second part is focused on the tales of the rabbit in the moon. In the third part, the wisdom of rabbit, even though it is a small and weak animal, will be more highlighted.
The NFMK has been holding the special exhibition on the twelve animals in the system of the Chinese zodiac since the year of 1999 which also marked the year of the rabbit. In this regard, it is meaningful to have the special exhibition on the rabbit again because the year of 2011 marks the 12th anniversary as the 12 years are one cycle within the Chinese Zodiac system. In spite of their small figure, rabbits symbolize cleverness, wisdom, and growth of all nature, prosperity and abundance. By holding this exhibition, the NFMK hope you have a happy new year with the luck of rabbit's wisdom.
