2026 Discover the Real Daily Life of Koreans

The National Folk Museum of Korea offers educational programs for international visitors to provide a deeper understanding of Korean folk culture beyond K-pop and K-dramas. Through guided exploration of the museum's Outdoor Exhibition Area and hands-on activities, participants can experience everyday Korean life and traditions in an engaging and interactive way.

Period: May-November 2026 (Schedule arranged upon request)
Time: 10:00–12:00 or 14:00–16:00 (Flexible depending on the group)
Audience: International groups
Capacity: Up to 20 participants per session
Fee: Free of charge
Venue: Traditional Culture Center (전통문화배움터) & Outdoor Exhibition Area, National Folk Museum of Korea

2	Dabangs and Korean Coffee Culture	Yaksok Dabang (Traditional Coffeehouse)	Explore the evolution of Korean coffee culture—from the nostalgic era of instant coffee mix to today's café culture and the famous eoljukah ("Iced Americano, even in winter!") trend. Hands-on Activity: Create a mother-of-pearl coaster
3	Ondol and Floor-Sitting Culture	Ochondaek (Traditional House)	Learn how Korea's traditional ondol floor-heating system shaped Korean homes and everyday life. Experience the customs of floor-sitting culture while exploring a traditional hanok. Hands-on Activity: Make a miniature soban (traditional Korean dining table) using hanji paper
4	Korean School Life and Traditional Games	Bukchon National Peoples’ School (Classroom)	Discover Korean school culture, classroom life, and traditional children's games. Participants will also try several folk games featured in the global hit series Squid Game. Hands-on Activity: Experience traditional Korean games

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
As the program is conducted entirely in Korean, groups must be accompanied by an interpreter.
The National Folk Museum of Korea may photograph or record the program for promotional, educational, and research purposes.
