Korean Traditional Music Class for International Residents – Janggu


The National Folk Museum of Korea (NFMK) launches Korean Traditional Music Class for international residents. The course is consisted of 8 consecutive classes in total, and the participants will learn how to play Janggu (hourglass-shaped Korean drum), which is the most important instrument in Korean traditional music including Samulnori. At the end of May, participants are anticipated to present a final performance of the course at museum auditorium.


Tuition is free and the museum provides instruments and costume for the class period. International residents in Korea regardless of age and gender are invited to the class, however constant attendance is required

  • Tuition: free
  • Language: English
  • Date and Time: Thursdays in April, Tuesdays and Thursdays in May. 15:00-17:00 (Exact schedule will be informed afterwards.)
  • Place: Auditorium, The National Folk Museum of Korea (in Gyeongbokgung Palace)
