Introduction

When would be the most crucial moment in a human’s life? Of course, it would be the moment of birth. Because birth is the beginning of life.
This exhibition presents stories of birth which is one of the most unforgettable experiences in a woman’s life and a magnificent sight in the whole human history.
We chose a family with birth experiences over three generations of women and you could witness significant moments in their lives. We hope the exhibition provides an opportunity to consider the meaning of giving birth through ‘the stories of grandma, mom and me’.
Humanity's survival is due to the pain of giving birth endured by our mothers.
We dedicate this exhibition to the past, present and future mothers who made thousands of years of humanity possible.

1. Nervous but Full of Expectation
All pregnant women, regardless of their generations, feel nervous and frightened before giving birth. But on the other hand, just the thought of a newborn baby make their heart flutter.

2. Painful but Beautiful Encounter
The pain of giving birth cannot be expressed in words.
Just as I felt I would die from so much pain, my child came into this world.
And this is how I became a mother.

3. Mom, a Special Name
Restless infant care is such a tough job and it is harder than giving birth.
Although they are tired, the sense of responsibility and happiness is what all parents would feel from caring for their babies.
