---|---|
Period | 2006-09-06 ~ 2006-12-25 |
Venue | ExhibitionⅠ |
This special exhibition is to introduce some sorts of the Korean Folk Paintings, which were not in the previous exhibition but have been used especially in daily lives and Shamanic shrines, of Korean Folk Paintings Collection at National Folk Museum. It shows the diversity of Korean Folk Paintings through some anomalous and liberal works. Korean Folk Paintings have had the close connection with the space of houses such as Sarangbang (master's quarter) • Anbang (lady's quarter)• Madang (courtyard) to pray for one's wish and fortune. Also other sort of Korean Folk Paintings, those in Shamanic shrines, were to pray for the mercy and well-being of ones' houses and villages. Here are Korean Folk Paintings that show painters' imagination and wit throughout representing paintings more daringly and freely instead of focusing on realistic expressions. |
